وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ ، ثَنَا مِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : فَجَرَتْ خَادِمٌ لِآلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا عَلِيُّ ، حُدَّهَا . قَالَ : فَتَرَكَهَا حَتَّى وَضَعَتْ مَا فِي بَطْنِهَا ، ثُمَّ ضَرَبَهَا خَمْسِينَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : أَصَبْتَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a maidservant of the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) committed fornication, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Ali! Carry out the hadd punishment on her." The narrator said: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave her respite until she had delivered (given birth to the child); then he gave her fifty lashes. After that he came into the noble presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned the whole incident, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (approving it), "You did exactly right."
