وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : ادْرَؤُوا الْحُدُودَ عَنْ عِبَادِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ . ( 79 ) وَحَدِيثُ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ سَيَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالَى فِي السَّرِقَةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, "Avert the hadd (prescribed) punishments, as far as possible, from the servants of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
