وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وَسَأَلَهُ غَيْرِي أَحَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ ؟ قَالَ : كَيْفَ حَرَّمَهُ؟ وَاللهِ مَا رَآهُ قَطُّ . !
Asim bin Umar narrates that I, along with some other people, asked Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had declared nabidh prepared in green earthenware jars (jarr) unlawful. He replied, "How could he (peace and blessings be upon him) possibly have declared it unlawful? By Allah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) never even saw it!"
