قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَسْرُوقًا قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا قَالَ : أَمْرُكِ بِيَدِكِ ، وَاسْتَصْلِحِي بِأَمْرِكِ ، وَقَدْ وَجَّهْتُكِ لِأَهْلِكِ إِنْ قَبِلُوهَا - فَوَاحِدَةٌ بَائِنَةٌ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said (regarding divorce): "If a husband says (to his wife): 'Your affair is in your own hand; decide for yourself what is best for you; and I have sent you to your family, provided they accept you,' then this will be counted as one irrevocable divorce (talaq ba'in, by which the marriage bond ends)."
