وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلْمَى بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَتْ : بَايَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نِسْوَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَأَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا : " أَنْ لَا تَغْشُشْنَ أَزْوَاجَكُنَّ . قَالَتْ : فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفْنَا ، قُلْنَا : أَوَسَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا غِشُّ أَزْوَاجِنَا ؟ فَرَجَعْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَسَأَلَتْهُ ، فَقَالَ : أَنْ تُخَانِينَ وَتُهَادِينَ مَالَهُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salma bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge of allegiance from us along with some women of the Ansar, and took a firm covenant from us: "You shall never deceive your husbands." She says: When we left, we said to one another: We should have asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) what is meant by deceiving one's husband. So we went back into his (peace and blessings be upon him) noble presence and asked about it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It means that you betray them in their rights and begin giving their wealth away as gifts to others (without their consent)."
