وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " الْإِثْمُ حَوَازُ الْقُلُوبِ ، وَمَا كَانَ مِنْ نَظْرَةٍ فَإِنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ فِيهَا مَطْمَعًا ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Sin is what stirs unease and disquiet in hearts, and in every glance (that falls on a non-mahram) there is a particular greed and craving for Satan (to lead a person into temptation)."
