وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ سَيْحَانَ ، ثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْسِمُ الْغَنَمَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ ، فَتَقَعُ الشَّاةُ بَيْنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ ، فَيَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا : دَعْ لِي نَصِيبَكَ أَتَزَوَّجْ بِهِ ! " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was distributing goats of charity among his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and one goat would fall as a shared portion between two men; so one of them would say to the other: Leave your share to me so that I may marry with it!"
