قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، ثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ الصَّوَّافُ ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ فِي كِتَابِ جَدِّي مُعَاوِيَةَ ابْنِ عَمِّ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، مِنْ كُتُبِ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، فَوَجَدْتُ فِيهِ : هَذَا مَا اسْتَذْكَرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ مِنْ قَضَاءٍ قَضَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الدِّيَةُ بَيْنَ الْوَرَثَةِ مِيرَاثٌ عَلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him), concerning a judgement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) issued this ruling: "Blood money (diyah) will be divided among the heirs as inheritance, according to the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
