قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، وَالْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَنَسَخْتُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، ثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : عَدِيٌّ ، كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ امْرَأَتَيْنِ لَهُ جِوَارٌ ، فَرَمَى إِحْدَاهُمَا بِحَجَرٍ فَقَتَلَهَا . فَرَكِبَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ بِتَبُوكَ ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ شَأْنِ الْمَرْأَةِ الْمَقْتُولَةِ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَعْقِلُهَا ، وَلَا تَرِثُهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that something unpleasant occurred between him and his two wives, and he struck one of them with a stone, from which she died. So he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was staying at Tabuk, and asked him (peace and blessings be upon him) about the legal ruling concerning the slain woman. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will pay her blood money, but you will not inherit from her estate."
