It is narrated from Sayyiduna Dhu al-Ghurrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin presented himself before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was travelling, and said: O Messenger of Allah! The time of prayer comes upon us while we are in the camels' pens, that is, the places where they rest; may we pray there? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." He said: Should we perform ablution after eating camel meat? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He then asked: May we pray in the goats' pens, that is, their resting places? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." He said: Should we perform ablution because of eating goat meat? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No."
The chain of this hadith contains Abdullah bin Abdullah Abu Ja'far al-Razi, who is saduq (truthful), but there is criticism of his memory; however, supporting reports for it exist in Sahih Muslim (360) and other books of Sunan, by which this text is established as authentic.
