قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : أَعْظَمُ الْغُلُولِ عِنْدَ اللهِ تَعَالَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ذِرَاعُ أَرْضٍ يَسْرِقُهَا الرَّجُلَانِ وَالْجَارَانِ ، يَكُونُ بَيْنَهُمَا ، فَيَسْرِقُ أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ ، فَيُطَوَّقُهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The greatest form of misappropriation (ghulul) in the sight of Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection is a cubit of land that two men, two neighbours, steal: that land lies between them, and one of them steals from his companion's share; it will be made a collar around his neck from seven earths."
