قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا مَيْسَرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ - قَالَا : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ... فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا ، فِيهِ : وَمَنْ خَانَ أَمَانَتَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، وَلَمْ يَرُدَّهَا إِلَى أَرْبَابِهَا ، مَاتَ عَلَى غَيْرِ دِينِ الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَلَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ ، ثُمَّ يُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّارِ ، فَيَهْوَى مِنْ شَفِيرِهَا أَبَدَ الْآبِدِينَ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that they both related: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us; then the narrator mentioned a long hadith in which there is also this (saying): "And whoever betrays the trust (placed with him) in this world and does not return it to its rightful owners will die upon a religion other than Islam, and will meet Allah Almighty while He is intensely angry with him; then the command will be given concerning him (that he be taken) to the Fire, and he will keep falling from its edge (into its depths) forever and ever." This narration is mawdu' (fabricated).
