ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : الْعَارِيَةُ مَرْدُودَةٌ ، وَالْمِنْحَةُ مَرْدُودَةٌ .
The narrator says: Abu al-Abbas informed me on the authority of a man of the Ansar, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "A borrowed item ('ariyah) is to be returned, and a minhah (an animal or orchard given temporarily for its milk or fruit) is also to be returned."
