Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 1291 — The legitimacy of meeting the pilgrim

It is narrated from al-Muhajir (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), said: "The pilgrim is forgiven, and so is the one for whom the pilgrim seeks forgiveness; this virtue lasts for the rest of Dhu al-Hijjah, Muharram, Safar and the first ten days of Rabi' al-Awwal."
The chain of this report contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, whom the majority of hadith scholars have declared da'if (weak); hence its chain is weak.
