قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَحْرٍ ، ثَنَا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي بُدْنِ التَّطَوُّعِ : إِذَا عَطِبَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ الْحَرَمَ فَانْحَرْهَا ، ثُمَّ اغْمِسْ يَدَكَ فِي دَمِهَا ، ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ صَفْحَتَهَا ، وَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا ، فَإِنْ أَكَلْتَ مِنْهَا غُرِّمْتَهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning voluntary sacrificial camels: "If it begins to perish (through injury) before it enters the bounds of the Haram, slaughter it, then dip your hand in its blood and mark its side, and do not eat anything of it yourself, for if you eat anything of it, you will be liable to pay compensation for it."
