قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ ، عَنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ صُهْبَانَ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ بَيْنَ الْبَابِ وَالرُّكْنِ ، أَوْ بَيْنَ الْمَقَامِ وَالْبَابِ : رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ .
It is narrated from Habib bin Suhban (may Allah have mercy on him): I saw Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) performing tawaf of the House of Allah, and between the door of the Ka'bah and the Black Stone corner, or (according to the narrator's doubt) in the part between the Station of Ibrahim and the door, he was making this supplication: "Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire" [Surah al-Baqarah: 201].
