Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 1190 — What the one in ihram must avoid

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "A person in the state of ihram may take a bath, and he may also wash his (ihram) clothes if he wishes."
This report is sahih (authentic) in its chain, and it is the Companion's own statement (mawquf).
A report with the same meaning is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), in which he stated the same ruling.
