It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Take your children for Hajj; let it not be that you eat up their share of provision (wealth) yourselves, yet (by delaying the performance of Hajj) leave the burden of their sins upon their necks."
What is meant is that when children possess wealth and reach the age of maturity, Hajj becomes obligatory upon them; so parents should fulfil this obligation for them from their wealth, so that they may be free from the burden of sins.
