بَابُ كَثْرَةِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ ، وَعَلَامَتِهَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ .

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " يَأْتِي مَعِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِثْلُ السَّيْلِ وَاللَّيْلِ ، فَتَحْطِمُ النَّاسَ حَطْمَةٌ فَتَقُولُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ : لَمَا جَاءَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا جَاءَ مَعَ سَائِرِ الْأُمَمِ أَوِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection my Ummah will come with me like a flood and like the night, so much so that because of their crowd the other people will face distress. The angels will say: 'Those who have come with Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) are more than all those who came with the other nations' (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) 'those who came with the other Prophets.'"

وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، وَأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأُمَمِ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ أُمَّتَكَ ؟ قَالَ : " أَعْرِفُهُمْ يُؤْتَوْنَ كُتُبَهُمْ بِأَيْمَانِهِمْ ، وَأَعْرِفُهُمْ سِيمَاهُمْ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ مِنْ أَثَرِ السُّجُودِ ، وَأَعْرِفُهُمْ بِنُورِهِمْ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) report that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection I will recognise my Ummah among the other nations." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, how will you recognise your Ummah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will recognise them when they come with their records of deeds in their right hands; I will recognise them by the particular mark on their faces from the traces of prostration; and I will recognise them by their light which will be running before them."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " يَسْعَى بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
In one narration the words are: "Which (light) will be running before them and on their right."

وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُؤْذَنُ لَهُ بِالسُّجُودِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُؤْذَنُ لَهُ أَنْ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ فَأَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ فَأَعْرِفُ أُمَّتِي مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأُمَمِ ، وَمِنْ خَلْفِي مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ، وَعَنْ شِمَالِي مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ " .
فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : كَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ أُمَّتَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأُمَمِ ، فِيمَا بَيْنَ نُوحٍ إِلَى أُمَّتِكَ ؟ ! قَالَ : " هُمْ غُرٌّ مُحَجَّلُونَ مِنْ أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ ، لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ كَذَلِكَ غَيْرَهُمْ ، وَأَعْرِفُهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ يُؤْتَوْنَ كُتُبَهُمْ بِأَيْمَانِهِمْ ، وَأَعْرِفُهُمْ تَسْعَى ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ عَنْهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " وَذَرَارِيُّهُمْ نُورٌ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ " . وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : كَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ أُمَّتَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأُمَمِ ، فِيمَا بَيْنَ نُوحٍ إِلَى أُمَّتِكَ ؟ ! قَالَ : " هُمْ غُرٌّ مُحَجَّلُونَ مِنْ أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ ، لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ كَذَلِكَ غَيْرَهُمْ ، وَأَعْرِفُهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ يُؤْتَوْنَ كُتُبَهُمْ بِأَيْمَانِهِمْ ، وَأَعْرِفُهُمْ تَسْعَى ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ عَنْهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " وَذَرَارِيُّهُمْ نُورٌ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ " . وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection I will be the first person who is given permission to prostrate, and I will be the first person who is given permission to raise his head. I will look in front of me and recognise my Ummah among the other nations; behind me likewise (I will recognise them), on my right likewise (I will recognise them), and on my left likewise (I will recognise them)." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, how will you recognise your Ummah among the nations from the Ummah of Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) up to your own Ummah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They will have shining foreheads (and limbs) from the traces of ablution; no one other than them will be like that. I will recognise them in that when they come, their records of deeds will be in their right hands, and I will recognise them in that their children will be running before them."

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَنْتُمُ الْغُرُّ الْمُحَجَّلُونَ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . قُلْتُ : وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ فِي كِتَابِ الطَّهَارَةِ أَحَادِيثُ مِنْ نَحْوِ هَذَا الْبَابِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are the ones with shining foreheads (and limbs)."
