Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people, go out less after evening has fallen, for Allah Almighty spreads animals (or creeping creatures) in the earth which do as they are commanded. And when you hear the braying of a donkey or the barking of a dog, seek refuge with Allah from Satan, for it (the animal, i.e. the donkey or the dog) sees what you do not see."
Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Umayyah bin Ya'la, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Suhayb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a donkey brays, seek refuge with Allah Almighty from Satan the accursed."
Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talhah, who is matruk (abandoned). (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: reports of this kind have already passed in the book of etiquette.
