Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out of the market, he would recite:
'Allahumma inni as'aluka min khayri hadhihis-suq wa khayri ma fiha, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma fiha. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika an usiba fiha yaminan fajiratan aw safqatan khasirah' (O Allah, I ask You for the good of this market and the good of whatever is in it, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of whatever is in it. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from swearing a false oath in it or making a losing deal.)
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Muhammad bin Aban al-Ju'fi, who is da'if (weak).

Sulaym bin Hanzalah narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the gate of the market and recited:
'Allahumma inni as'aluka min khayriha wa khayri ahliha, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ahliha' (O Allah, I ask You for the good of this (market) and the good of its (market's) people, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of its people.)
Al-Tabarani recorded it as a mawquf report (stopping at the Companion), and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Sulaym bin Hanzalah, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O community of traders! Is any one of you unable, when he returns from the market, to recite ten verses of the Qur'an, so that Allah Almighty records for him one good deed for every verse?"
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except al-Rabi' bin Tha'lab and Abu Isma'il al-Mu'addib, and both of them are thiqah (trustworthy). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Hadiths about what a person should recite when he enters the market have already passed earlier in the Book of Sales (al-Buyu').
