Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gets up at night and recites 'Bismillah' ten times, recites 'Subhan Allah' ten times, and then recites ten times:
'Amantu billahi, wa kafartu bil-jibti wat-taghut' (I believe in Allah and I reject the Jibt and the Taghut.)
(The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) such a person will be protected from everything he fears, and no sin will be able to reach him until the following night comes."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher al-Miqdam bin Dawud, who is da'if (weak). Ibn Daqiq al-'Id said: he has been declared trustworthy; on this basis
this report would be hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim who wakes from his sleep at night and recites:
'La ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wa subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillahi rabbil-'alamin. Allahumma ighfir li' (There is no god but Allah; Allah is the Greatest; Allah is free from every imperfection; all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. O Allah, forgive me.) (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) that person will be forgiven; and if he resolves, gets up, performs ablution (wudu) and supplicates to Allah Almighty, his supplication will be answered."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Aban bin Abi Ayyash, who is matruk (abandoned).
