عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ : أَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِالْأَبْطَحِ وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ أَنْتُمْ ؟ " . فَقُلْنَا : بَنُو عَامِرٍ ، فَقَالَ : " مَرْحَبًا أَنْتُمْ مِنِّي " .
Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Abtah while he was in a red tent at that time. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who are you people?" We said: "We are Banu Amir." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Welcome! You people are from me."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ " .
In one narration the words are: "Welcome to you people!"
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " وَأَنَا مِنْكُمْ " . رَوَاهُ كُلَّهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ عَنْهُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى أَيْضًا ، وَفِيهِ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
In one narration the words are: "And I am from you." Al-Tabarani recorded all of these narrations in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from that Companion in abridged form; Abu Ya'la also recorded these narrations. Their chain contains al-Hajjaj bin Artah, who is a mudallis, and the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
