عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَدْعُو لِهَذَا الْحَيِّ مِنَ النَّخَعِ - أَوْ قَالَ : يُثْنِي عَلَيْهِمْ - حَتَّى تَمَنَّيْتُ أَنِّي رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for the tribe of al-Nakha'. The narrator says: Or perhaps the words are: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praised those people, until I wished that I were one of them.
Ahmad, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it; the narrators of Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).
