بَابٌ فِي نُبَيْشَةِ الْخَيْرِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

قَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ : هُوَ نُبَيْشَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْهُذَلِيُّ ، يَقُولُ : نُبَيْشَةُ الْخَيْرِ ، وَهُوَ نُبَيْشَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ بْنِ عَتَّابِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ .
Al-Tabarani states: This is Sayyiduna Nubayshah bin Abdullah al-Hudhali (may Allah be pleased with him). He says: This is Sayyiduna Nubayshah al-Khayr (may Allah be pleased with him). He is Sayyiduna Nubayshah (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Abdullah bin Shayban bin Attab bin al-Harith bin Husayn bin al-Harith bin Abd al-Uzza bin Wathilah.
عَنْ أُمِّ عَاصِمٍ - وَهِيَ أُمُّ وَلَدِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبَّقِ الْهُذَلِيِّ - قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا نُبَيْشَةُ ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - سَمَّاهُ : " نُبَيْشَةَ الْخَيْرِ " . دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَعِنْدَهُ أُسَارَى ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِمَّا أَنْ تَمُنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تُفَادِيَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَرْتَ بِخَيْرٍ ، أَنْتَ نُبَيْشَةُ الْخَيْرِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Umm Asim, who was the umm walad (slave mother of the children) of Sufyan bin Salamah bin al-Muhabbaq al-Hudhali, narrates: Sayyiduna Nubayshah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had given him the name Nubayshah al-Khayr. Once he came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and some captives were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Either show them favour (by releasing them), or accept a ransom for them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have advised what is good; you are Nubayshah al-Khayr (Nubayshah of goodness)."
