Sayyiduna Abbas bin Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "I took part in twenty military expeditions with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), one expedition after another."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains al-Waqidi, who is da'if (weak).

Sulayman bin Yasar narrates that Sayyiduna Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) lost his eyesight before the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: "All praise belongs to Allah Almighty, who granted me the blessing of eyesight during the blessed lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and when Allah Almighty willed tribulation among His servants, He withheld my eyesight from it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Yazid bin Hazim, and he (the narrator) is thiqah (trustworthy).
