عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " سَمَّاهُمُ اللَّهُ الْأَبْرَارَ لِأَنَّهُمْ بَرُّوا الْآبَاءَ وَالْأُمَّهَاتِ وَالْأَبْنَاءَ ، كَمَا أَنَّ لِوَالِدَيْكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا كَذَلِكَ لِوَلَدِكَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْوَصَّافِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty named the righteous 'the righteous' (al-abrar) because they treat their fathers, their mothers and their sons well. Just as your parents have a right over you, so too your children have a right over you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ubaydullah bin al-Walid al-Wassafi, who is da'if (weak).

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ حَجَّ عَنْ وَالِدَيْهِ أَوْ قَضَى عَنْهُمَا مَغْرَمًا بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ جَبَلَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs Hajj on behalf of his parents, or pays off a debt on their behalf, Allah Almighty will raise him on the Day of Resurrection with the righteous."
