Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man who was lying on his stomach (face down), and he said: "This is a way of lying down that Allah Almighty does not like."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqamah, and he is hasan al-hadith (sound in hadith). The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Amr bin al-Sharid narrates from his father, Sayyiduna al-Sharid (may Allah be pleased with him), about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that whenever he found a man lying on his face with nothing covering his buttocks, he would nudge him with his foot and say: "This is the most hateful way of lying down in the sight of Allah Almighty."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Al-Harith bin Abd al-Rahman narrates: Once I was sitting with Abu Salamah bin Abd al-Rahman when a man from Banu Ghifar appeared before us, who was the son of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Tihfah (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Salamah said: "Will you not tell us about your father?" So he related that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Tihfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When there were many guests with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would say: 'Let each man go back with his own guest.' One night, many guests gathered with him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Let each man go back with the person sitting beside him.'" The narrator says: "I went with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he entered the house, he said: 'O Aishah! Is there anything?' She replied: 'Yes! There is a little hays for your iftar.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took a little of it and ate it, then he said: 'Eat it with the name of Allah.' So we ate from it until we were no longer even looking at it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: 'Do you have anything to drink?' Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: 'Yes, there is a little milk that I kept aside for you.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Bring it.' The narrator says: Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) brought it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took it, raised it to his mouth, drank a little of it and then said: 'Drink with the name of Allah.' We drank until, by Allah, we were no longer even looking at it. Then we went out. I came to the mosque and lay down on my face (that is, face down). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, waking people for the prayer. While waking people for the prayer, he passed by me as I was lying on my face, and he said: 'Who is this?' I said: 'Abdullah bin Tihfah.' He said: 'This is a way of lying down that Allah Almighty does not like.'" (Al-Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud recorded it from Sayyiduna Tihfah (may Allah be pleased with him) in abridged form, and al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) also recorded it from Sayyiduna Tihfah (may Allah be pleased with him) and through one other person, but he did not name that other person. I have not found anyone who recorded it from the son of Sayyiduna Tihfah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Allah knows best.
Ahmad recorded it, and I do not know the son of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Tihfah (may Allah be pleased with him). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
