Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man may say something by which he intends no evil, only that people may laugh at it, yet because of it he falls (into Hell) from a height farther than the sky."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Atiyyah al-Awfi, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy), and he is da'if (weak).

Qurrah narrates: I asked Ibn Sirin: "Did they (the noble Companions) jest with one another?" He replied: "They were just like other people. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would jest and recite this verse: 'He loves to drink wine from his companions' wealth, and hates that his (own) coins should part from him.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. The hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) will come in the book on the signs of prophethood, in the chapter on the excellent character of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
