Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man has more right to the front part of his mount, and to his place in a gathering when he returns."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Isma'il bin Rafi', about whom al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: he is thiqah (trustworthy) but muqarib al-hadith (his narrations are passable), and the majority of the Imams declared him da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that when a person gets up from his place, another person should sit in his place, and he said: When that person returns, he has more right to his place.
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it; its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that the narrator Ibn Ishaq is a mudallis.
