Sayyiduna Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent three men, one to Caesar, one to Chosroes and one to the ruler of Alexandria, and he sent Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) to the Negus. When Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Negus, he found that everyone who came to the Negus entered bowing, through a small door. When Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) saw that small door and the way those people entered, he turned his back and then entered walking backwards, and when he had entered, he straightened up. The Abyssinians were alarmed at this and intended to kill Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him). They said: "Why did you not enter the way we enter?" Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "We do not do this even with our Prophet, who is more deserving that this be done with him." The Negus said: "Leave him; he is speaking the truth."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); some criticism has been made of some of its narrators, which is not harmful.

Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: In Makkah, when the Muslims' own clans began to oppress them, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Muslims: "Disperse in the land." So they went to the land of Abyssinia. Quraysh sent Abdullah bin Abi Rabi'ah and Amr bin al-As, and among the things Amr and Abdullah said to the Negus was this: "These people will not greet you the way anyone of us who comes to you greets you." The Negus asked Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions: "Why is it that you do not greet me the way the others do?" They replied: "We greet you the way our Prophet is greeted, and this is the greeting of the people of Paradise."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ya'qub bin Muhammad al-Zuhri, whom more than one person declared thiqah (trustworthy), and he has also been declared da'if (weak) because of his tadlis (concealing the source); however, he explicitly stated that he heard it from a shaykh who is thiqah (trustworthy). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Some hadiths have already passed in which this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is mentioned: "If I were to order anyone to prostrate to someone else, I would order the woman to prostrate to her husband." The various chains of this narration have passed in the Book of Marriage.
