Al-Qasim narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "None of you should say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from fitnah (trial),' for every one of you will inevitably face some trial. Whoever wishes to seek refuge, let him seek refuge from its misguiding trials, for Allah Almighty has said: 'Indeed, your wealth and your children are a trial.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; the chain of this report is munqati' (broken), and its chain contains a narrator, al-Mas'udi, who suffered from confusion (ikhtilat) in his memory.
