Masruq narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) disliked writing words of explanation (tafsir) in the Qur'an.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Abu al-Za'ra' narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Keep the Qur'an separate; do not mix into it anything that is not part of it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except Abu al-Za'ra', whose case is different: Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy), while al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and others say: His hadith is not corroborated. Before this, the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and others about writing the Qur'an, which has the same meaning, has already passed in the chapter on knowledge.
