عَنْ عَلِيٍّ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يَحْفَظُ مُنَافِقٌ سُوَرَ "بَرَاءَةٌ" ، وَيس ، وَالدُّخَانِ ، وَعَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ نَهْشَلُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) transmits this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "No hypocrite can memorise Surah al-Tawbah, Surah Ya-Sin, Surah al-Dukhan and Surah al-Naba'."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Nahshal bin Sa'id, who is matruk (abandoned).
