It is reported about Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked about this saying of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty says: "And when the girl buried alive is asked." Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Once Qays bin Asim came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! In the Days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah) I buried my daughters alive." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Free a slave on behalf of each one of them." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! I am an owner of camels." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then sacrifice a camel on behalf of each one of them."
Al-Bazzar and Tabarani recorded it. The narrators of al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih, except Husayn bin Mahdi al-Ayli, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

Khalifah bin Husayn narrates: Sayyiduna Qays bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "In the Days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah) I buried twelve, or perhaps thirteen, of my daughters alive." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Free a soul on behalf of each one of them."
Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin Abd al-Hamid al-Himmani, who is da'if (weak).
