قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا .
The words of Allah the Exalted: "They ask you about the Hour: when is its arrival? In what position are you to mention it? To your Lord is its finality"

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : مَا زَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَسْأَلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept asking about the Hour, until this verse was revealed: "What have you to do with mentioning it (its specific time)? Its final end rests with your Lord alone."

وَعَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُكْثِرُ ذِكْرَ السَّاعَةِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
