Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about this statement of Allah Almighty: 'And beautiful, wide-eyed houris.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hur" means that they will be fair-skinned, and "in" means that their eyes will be large. The eyelashes of a houri will be like the wings of vultures. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about this statement of Allah Almighty: 'They will be like pearls kept hidden.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Their purity will be like a clear pearl that is inside the shell, which no hands have touched. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about this statement of Allah Almighty: 'In them will be (houris) of good character and beautiful faces.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That is, their character will be excellent and their faces beautiful. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about this statement of Allah Almighty: 'As if they were eggs kept hidden.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They will be as delicate as that skin is delicate which you see on the inner part of an egg, joined to the shell, and that is the ghirqi'. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about this statement of Allah Almighty: 'Loving and of equal age.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These are the women who, when they die in the world, will have become old, bleary-eyed and grey-haired; and when Allah Almighty creates them after their old age, He will make them virgins. The word "urub" means that they will be passionate and loving, and the word "atrab" means that they will be of one age (that is, young). I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Are the women of the world superior, or the wide-eyed houris?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Rather, the women of the world are superior to the wide-eyed houris in the same way that the outer layer of a garment is superior to its inner lining. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is the reason for that?" He said: The reason for it is these women's prayer, their fasting and their worship of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty will put light upon their faces and silk upon their bodies; their complexions will be white, their clothes green and their ornaments yellow (that is, of gold); their censers will be of pearls and their combs of gold. And they will say: "Listen! We are the everlasting ones; death will never come to us. We are the ones in bliss; we will never suffer hardship. We are the ones who stay; we will never depart. We are the ones who are content; we will never be displeased. Glad tidings to the one for whom we are and who is for us." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! A woman among us marries two, three or four men in the world (one after another), then she dies and enters Paradise, and her former husbands also enter Paradise. Who will be her husband in Paradise?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umm Salamah! That woman will be given a choice, and she will choose the one (husband) whose character was the best among them all. She will say: 'O my Lord! In the world this man had the best character, so marry me to him.' O Umm Salamah! Good character has taken away all the good of this world and the Hereafter."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains the narrator Sulayman bin Abi Karimah, whom Abu Hatim and Ibn Adi declared da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Salamah bin Yazid al-Ju'fi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting (Allah Almighty says): "Indeed We have produced them in a special creation and made them virgins, loving." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Whether in the world) they were previously married or not previously married (that is, in the Hereafter they will be virgins).
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains the narrator Jabir al-Ju'fi, who is da'if (weak). The hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) will come in the chapter on the description of Paradise.
