Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some Arab people came and said: "Come with us to this man. If he is a prophet, we will be the most fortunate of people through him, and if he is a king, we will live comfortably under his protection." So I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him what they had said. Then those people came to the apartments of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and began calling out loudly: "O Muhammad! O Muhammad!" Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "Indeed, those who call you from behind the apartments, most of them do not understand." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my ear and said: "O Zayd! Allah Almighty has confirmed your words."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Dawud bin Rashid al-Tufawi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and Yahya bin Ma'in declared da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه الطبراني فى المعجم الكبير (5123) ، أخرجه المعجم الكبير للطبراني برقم: 5123، وأخرجه إتحاف الخيرة المهرة بزوائد المسانيد العشرة برقم: 5824/1»
It is reported about al-Aqra' bin Habis that he called out to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from outside the apartments and said: "O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not answer him. He said: "O Muhammad! Praise spoken by me is a source of honour, and blame spoken by me is a source of disgrace." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That belongs only to Allah Almighty (exclusively)." This is as the narrator Abu Salamah related it.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it. One of Ahmad's chains has narrators who are the narrators of the Sahih, if the narrator Abu Salamah heard from al-Aqra' bin Habis; otherwise
this narration is counted as mursal, like the chain of Ahmad's other narration.
