قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ .

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ قَالَ : " الْخَطُّ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَلَفْظُهُ : عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْخَطِّ فَقَالَ : " هُوَ أَثَارَةٌ مِنْ عِلْمٍ " ،
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (Allah Almighty says:) "Or a remnant of knowledge." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What is meant by this is al-khatt (i.e. writing).
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and in it are these words: It is reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about al-khatt, and he said: "It is from the remnants of knowledge."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and in it are these words: It is reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about al-khatt, and he said: "It is from the remnants of knowledge."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ : عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا - فِي قَوْلِهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ قَالَ : جَوْدَةُ الْخَطِّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ لِلْحَدِيثِ الْمَرْفُوعِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
In a narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat the words are: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "Or a remnant of knowledge." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: What is meant by this is writing well. Ahmad's narrators of the marfu' hadith are the narrators of the Sahih.
