قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى مِثْلِهِ . 11337 عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ : انْطَلَقَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - [ يَوْمًا ] وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا كَنِيسَةَ الْيَهُودِ يَوْمَ عِيدِهِمْ ، فَكَرِهُوا دُخُولَنَا عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ ، أَرُونِي اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْكُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَحُطُّ اللَّهُ عَنْ كُلِّ يَهُودِيٍّ تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ الْغَضَبَ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ " ، فَأَسْكَتُوا ، فَمَا أَجَابَهُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ أَحَدٌ ، ثُمَّ ثَلَّثَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ أَحَدٌ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبَيْتُمْ ، فَوَاللَّهِ لَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ وَأَنَا الْعَاقِبُ وَأَنَا الْمُقَفَّى آمَنْتُمْ أَوْ كَذَّبْتُمْ " . ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى [ أَنَّنَا ] كِدْنَا أَنْ نَخْرُجَ نَادَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، فَقَالَ : كَمَا أَنْتَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ . فَأَقْبَلَ ، فَقَالَ ذَاكَ الرَّجُلُ : أَيُّ رَجُلٍ تَعْلَمُونِي مِنْكُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ ؟ قَالُوا : وَاللَّهِ مَا نَعْلَمُ فِينَا رَجُلًا كَانَ أَعْلَمَ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَفْقَهَ مِنْكَ وَلَا مِنْ أَبِيكَ قَبْلَكَ وَلَا مِنْ جَدِّكَ قَبْلَ أَبِيكَ . قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ أَنَّهُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ الَّذِي تَجِدُونَ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ . قَالُوا : كَذَبْتَ ، ثُمَّ رَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ [ وَقَالُوا فِيهِ ] شَرًّا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " كَذَبْتُمْ لَنْ نَقْبَلَ مِنْكُمْ قَوْلَكُمْ " . قَالَ : فَخَرَجْنَا وَنَحْنُ ثَلَاثَةٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَنَا وَابْنُ سَلَامٍ - فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ - تَعَالَى - قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُمْ بِهِ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى مِثْلِهِ فَآمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ : انْطَلَقَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - [ يَوْمًا ] وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا كَنِيسَةَ الْيَهُودِ يَوْمَ عِيدِهِمْ ، فَكَرِهُوا دُخُولَنَا عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ ، أَرُونِي اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْكُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَحُطُّ اللَّهُ عَنْ كُلِّ يَهُودِيٍّ تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ الْغَضَبَ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ " ، فَأَسْكَتُوا ، فَمَا أَجَابَهُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ أَحَدٌ ، ثُمَّ ثَلَّثَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ أَحَدٌ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبَيْتُمْ ، فَوَاللَّهِ لَأَنَا الْحَاشِرُ وَأَنَا الْعَاقِبُ وَأَنَا الْمُقَفَّى آمَنْتُمْ أَوْ كَذَّبْتُمْ " . ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى [ أَنَّنَا ] كِدْنَا أَنْ نَخْرُجَ نَادَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ، فَقَالَ : كَمَا أَنْتَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ . فَأَقْبَلَ ، فَقَالَ ذَاكَ الرَّجُلُ : أَيُّ رَجُلٍ تَعْلَمُونِي مِنْكُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ ؟ قَالُوا : وَاللَّهِ مَا نَعْلَمُ فِينَا رَجُلًا كَانَ أَعْلَمَ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَفْقَهَ مِنْكَ وَلَا مِنْ أَبِيكَ قَبْلَكَ وَلَا مِنْ جَدِّكَ قَبْلَ أَبِيكَ . قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ بِاللَّهِ أَنَّهُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ الَّذِي تَجِدُونَ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ . قَالُوا : كَذَبْتَ ، ثُمَّ رَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ [ وَقَالُوا فِيهِ ] شَرًّا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " كَذَبْتُمْ لَنْ نَقْبَلَ مِنْكُمْ قَوْلَكُمْ " . قَالَ : فَخَرَجْنَا وَنَحْنُ ثَلَاثَةٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَنَا وَابْنُ سَلَامٍ - فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ - تَعَالَى - قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُمْ بِهِ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى مِثْلِهِ فَآمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مَذْكُورٌ فِي سُورَةِ الذَّارِيَاتِ .

Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out, and I was with him, until we entered a synagogue of the Jews. It was the day of their festival, and they disliked our coming in to them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "O assembly of Jews! Show me twelve men from among you who bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah, and Allah Almighty will remove the wrath that has descended upon every Jew beneath the canopy of the sky." They remained silent; none of them answered him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated his words to them, and no one answered him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said it a third time, and no one answered him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You refuse! Then by Allah, I am al-Hashir (the Gatherer), I am al-Aqib (the Last), and I am al-Muqaffa (the one who follows the prophets), whether you believe or deny!" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away, and I was with him. When we were about to come out of there, a man called out from behind him: "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Stay where you are." Then that man came forward and said: "O assembly of Jews! What kind of man do you know me to be among you?" They said: "By Allah! We do not know of anyone among us who has more knowledge of the Book of Allah (i.e. the Torah) and more understanding than you, nor more knowledge than your father before you, nor more knowledge than your grandfather before your father." That man said: "Then I bear witness by Allah that he is the Prophet of Allah whom you find (mentioned) in the Torah." They said: "You are lying." Then they rejected what he had said and spoke evil of him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have lied; we will never accept your word from you." The narrator said: Then the three of us came out of there: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), myself, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him). Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse concerning it: "Say: Have you considered: if it is from Allah Almighty and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to its like and believed, while you are arrogant (and deny it)? Indeed, Allah Almighty does not guide the wrongdoing people."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
