Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: For a period of time we kept thinking and supposing that this verse had been revealed about us and about the People of the Book who were before us: (Allah Almighty says:) "Indeed, you will die and indeed, they will die; then on the Day of Resurrection you will dispute with one another before your Lord." We used to think: How will we dispute with one another, when our Prophet is one and our Book is one? Until we saw the situation in which people among us came against one another with swords; then I knew that this verse had been revealed about us.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When this verse was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, you will die and indeed, they will die; then indeed, on the Day of Resurrection you will dispute with one another before Allah." Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Will the (disputes) that existed between us in the world come back upon us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! They (the disputes) will come back upon you, until every rightful claimant is given his right." Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By Allah! Then the matter is very grave."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
