قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنْفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا .

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنْفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا قَالَ : تَلْتَقِي أَرْوَاحُ الْأَحْيَاءِ وَالْأَمْوَاتِ [ فِي الْمَنَامِ ] فَيَتَسَاءَلُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ ، فَيُمْسِكُ اللَّهُ أَرْوَاحَ الْمَوْتَى وَيُرْسِلُ أَرْوَاحَ الْأَحْيَاءِ إِلَى أَجْسَادِهَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "Allah takes the souls at the time of their death." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The souls of the living and the dead meet in sleep and question one another; then Allah Almighty withholds the souls of the dead and sends the souls of the living back to their bodies.
