عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْبِضْعُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّبْعِ إِلَى الْعَشَرَةِ " . قُلْتُ : لَهُ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ " الْبِضْعُ مَا دُونَ الْعَشَرَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ اللَّيْثِيُّ قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ : كَانَ مَالِكٌ يَرْضَاهُ وَكَانَ ثِقَةً . قُلْتُ : وَقَدْ ضَعَّفَهُ الْجُمْهُورُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The word 'bid'' is used for (a number) between seven and ten." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Tirmidhi has recorded from this Companion
the narration that the word "bid'" is used for less than ten.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Abd al-Aziz al-Laythi. Sa'id bin Mansur said: "Malik was pleased with him, and he is thiqah (trustworthy)."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The majority have declared him da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ نِيَارِ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " الْبِضْعُ مَا بَيْنَ الثَّلَاثِ إِلَى التِّسْعِ " . قُلْتُ : لَهُ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ حَدِيثٌ غَيْرُ هَذَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Niyar bin Mukram (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The word 'bid'' is used for (a number) from three to nine." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Tirmidhi has recorded a hadith (from him) other than this one.
