Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11259

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "So-and-so offers (voluntary) prayer at night, but when morning comes he steals." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It (the prayer) will stop him from what you are describing."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that al-A'mash said: "I think it was Abu Salih who narrated it from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)."
