Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the beginning and the end of Surat al-Kahf, it will be a light for him from his feet to his head; and whoever recites the whole surah, it will be a light for him (filling the space) between the earth and the sky."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it. The chain of Ahmad contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, who is da'if (weak), and his hadith has been graded hasan.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf, on the Day of Resurrection this surah will be a light for him from the place where he stands to Makkah. And whoever recites its last ten verses, then even if the Dajjal emerges, he will not be able to harm that person."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat as part of a long hadith; this complete narration is mentioned in the Book of Purification. Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

It is reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he held that the exception (saying In sha' Allah) is valid even if it comes a year later. Then he recited this verse: "And never say of anything, 'I will do that tomorrow,' unless you say In sha' Allah, for then the ruling is different; and remember your Lord when you forget." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: (It means) when you remember (you may make the exception).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states about this saying of Allah Almighty (Allah Almighty says:) "And remember your Lord when you forget." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: That is, when you forget to make the exception, then make the exception when you remember. He says: This was specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); none of us has the right to make the exception (later) for anyone, though he may make the exception along with his oath.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in all three books. Its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Aziz bin Husayn, who is da'if (weak).
