Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In place of the Torah I have been given the seven long (surahs)." After this the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Imran al-Qattan, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) and others declared him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states about this saying of Allah Almighty (Allah Almighty says:) "And We have given you seven of the oft-repeated." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This refers to the seven long surahs.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
