Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: (Allah Almighty says:) "Are they waiting only for the angels to come to them, or for your Lord to come, or for some of the signs of your Lord to come? On the day some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or had not earned some good through its faith." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It means the rising of the sun together with the moon from the west, like two camels yoked together.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it through two routes, one of which is this one; it contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak), while the other report is abridged and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
