Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the land is green and fertile, travel at an easy pace and give the mounts their due, for Allah Almighty is Gentle and loves gentleness. When the land is dry, pass through it quickly. Hold to travelling by night, for the earth is folded up at night. And beware of camping for the night in the middle of the road, for it is a shelter for snakes and a passage for beasts of prey."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it as mawquf (stopping at the Companion). Its chain contains Muhammad bin Abi Nu'aym, whom Abu Hatim al-Razi and Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), and Yahya bin Ma'in declared da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you travel through green and fertile land, give the animals their due (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) their share. When you travel through dry land, pass through it (quickly). Hold to travelling by night, for the earth is folded up at night. And when you camp for the night, do not camp in the middle of the road, for it is a shelter for every creature."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Some hadiths on this topic have already passed in the Book of Hajj.
