Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The miswak and the comb of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were never separated from his special place of prayer. Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) groomed his blessed beard, he would look in the mirror.

Sayyidah Umm al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "When you went on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or went for Hajj, or went with him to take part in a battle, which of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) things would you keep with you?" She said: "I would prepare provisions for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and in them I would put oil, a comb, a mirror, a hair-cutting tool (that is, scissors), a kohl container and a miswak."
