Sayyidah Umm al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "When you went on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or went for Hajj, or went with him to take part in a battle, which of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) things would you keep with you?" She said: "I would prepare provisions for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and in them I would put oil, a comb, a mirror, a hair-cutting tool (that is, scissors), a kohl container and a miswak." In one narration the wording is: "two hair-cutting tools."
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Hafs al-Wassabi, who is da'if (weak).
